Meet “Kira”
Meet “Kira”. Kira is ready for her furrever home! She needs an adopter of her own! This Abyssinian-colored, tiny little spayed girl kitty is one of the last of the hoarder* cats that we need to rehome. She is so pretty with her green eyes and her remarkable coloring. She would do best in a home WITHOUT small children or energetic dogs. Kira is learning to be a playful, carefree kitty (instead of fearing for her life on the street). She would prefer a home with another friendly boy or girl kitty to show her the ropes.
*For those of you that don’t know the story of our “hoarder house” situation… in March of 2022, Joanne’s Furry Friends was asked by our veterinarian’s office to help trap and re-home an unknown number of cats living in a disastrous home. People estimated there were between 18 and 30 cats of various ages inside the house. Their elderly owner passed away, leaving them in a house filled with trash of all sorts, furniture, vermin, fleas, cat cadavers hidden under beds, and the urns of 20+ other kitties. The elderly gentlemen honestly loved cats and he was meticulous about having them spayed/neutered. As his health declined, the number of strays he felt the need to “rescue” increased. The home had become extremely hazardous for people and cats. When he suddenly passed away, we went to the house to help. We started trapping cats the next day. Sadly, our mission was became extremely complicated because someone related to the elderly gentleman accidentally (or on purpose) let all of the indoor kitties outside. We have been contending with the conundrum of which cats which coming to feed stations were original hoarder cats and which were attracted by the food. Kira is one of the last four remaining “known” indoor only cats.
Kira was very shy when we finally were able to trap her. She was infested with hundreds of fleas. Through her foster brother, Hagrid (one of our former rescues), Kira has learned a love for laser pointers and playing safely inside with her big goofy friend. She has been dewormed, deflead, and SNAP tested negative for feline aids and feline leukemia. This shy little girl is estimated to be between 2-3 years old. Located in Anaheim, California – but willing to arrange transport all over Southern California. Adoption fee waived to a great, QUIET home. Direct 858-883-4222.
