🌸 Meet Flora 🌸
Flora and her sister Fauna are just six months old — babies who should be learning the joy of toys, cuddles, and naps in the sun ☀️. Instead, they were victims of something unthinkable 💔.
One day at 7am, we received a chilling text 📱: the adopter announced she had abandoned her rental home and “ABANDONED” (her words) three cats inside — Flora, Fauna, and Tux (the family’s older cat). She stated bluntly she had “no intention of going back.”
These innocent lives were deliberately used as pawns in a bitter fight between spouses 💔. Flora, Fauna, and Tux were left alone in a home with a severe water leak — frightened, confused, and discarded.
⚖️ Let’s be clear:
Abandoning an animal is not “relinquishing.” It is a crime.
Under California Penal Code §597s, animal abandonment is a misdemeanor, punishable by up to 6 months in county jail and a fine of up to $1,000. San Diego County takes this seriously — as it should.
These cats were not only betrayed by someone they trusted, but also left in dangerous conditions simply to inflict pain on another human. It’s absolutely despicable 😿.
💫 Their Second Chance Begins Now 💫
Despite this cruelty, Flora and Fauna remain gentle, sweet, and full of love 🥹. They deserve more than to be pawns in a human feud — they deserve a forever home with people who will protect them, not abandon them.
We actually had an adopter for Flora and Fauna and held them for three weeks 🗓️ — but due to a sudden family health issue, that adopter had to back out on the very day of adoption. So they’re officially back up for adoption! 🐱💖
They are the sweetest girls — they’ve just had some bad luck. 🍀
To be clear: Flora and Fauna do NOT need to be adopted together. Each can be adopted separately, though both would love to have another friendly kitty in the home for companionship 🐾.
🐈 About Flora
Flora is a sweet tabbico (she has a mix of orange and gray tabby swatches) sweetheart with the brightest eyes you’ve ever seen ✨. Originally adopted from JFF’s at just 10 weeks old (on June 16, 2025), she’s the definition of calm and cuddly — her favorite hobbies include lounging in laps, purring contentedly, and soaking up all the love she can get 🧡.
Flora is the initiator of everything. She’s very obedient and comes when called immediately 🥰. She loves to play and is great with other adult cats. While she doesn’t need to be adopted with Fauna, she will want another kitty friend in the home to play with when her human is busy 🎾🐾.
