Cillian (pronounced KILL-ee-an) is located in San Diego and ready to become someone’s loyal best friend for life. And trust us… he absolutely lives up to the name. 😅

Cillian is the ultimate companion cat. 🥹 He adores his people and wants to be wherever you are — sleeping on you all night 🛏️🐈, following you from room to room 🚶‍♀️, or proudly standing guard at the bedroom door watching for “intruders.” 🚪👀 He has the funniest little old man meow, his own vocabulary, and constantly “comments” back when you talk to him. 😂 He is not shy AT ALL — he’s social, hilarious, gentle, affectionate, and deeply bonded to humans. ❤️

Seven weeks ago, Cillian was found living as an unneutered tom cat at a recycling center. 🗑️ Since coming into rescue, he has been fully vetted: neutered, vaccinated 💉, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, and SNAP tested negative for FeLV/FIV. ✅

Not long after neuter surgery, he went to what we thought was a purrfect home. 🏡 He loved their other cat 🐱💕, but between a loud toddler, a dog, recent surgery recovery, and a busy household, it became clear he was overwhelmed and anxious. His adopters truly cared about him and tried very hard to make it work. ❤️

When he came back to rescue, I was recovering from hip replacement surgery and secretly snuck him into my bedroom (cats technically weren’t allowed for a week, as if I was going to rub him on my open wound 🤫😂). We ruled out a UTI with urinary testing, treated him with a short course of doxycycline and gabapentin just in case 💊, and gave him something he may never have fully had before: total peace and security. 🕊️

Since being back? He has been absolutely perfect. 🙌 Not a single accident in over a month — despite fluffy comforters, laundry baskets, dirty clothes on the floor, and vet visits. 🧺👕🩺

At this point, we truly believe Cillian simply needs a calm, stable home where he can deeply bond with his person without too much chaos or stimulation. 🏠✨ He is not a “problem” cat — he’s an incredibly loving, sensitive companion who thrives with consistency and connection. ❤️

To set him up for success, we think a quieter home would be best right now. Although he adored the other kitty in his previous home 🐈‍⬛💕, we would prefer no young children, dogs, or major household chaos while he settles in. Once secure, he may very well do great with other pets again. 🌈

He will come with:
