Meet “Budda Girl”
Looking for a special “foster forever” angel located in San Diego!
Budda Girl has been abused by a toddler and perhaps her owner. She can be extremely sweet and loving, but also aggressive when startled. She’s partially blind (maybe mostly) and has arthritis in her hind legs, in early/mid stages of kidney failure.
A forever foster is an animal with medical needs that takes adoption off the table. This can sometimes be referred to as “fospice” care; a combination of foster and hospice. We will still be responsible for making decisions and paying for certain vet treatment at the vet of our choice. In this case, we would like to try Librela arthritis treatment and would pay for rainbow bridge services when the time comes (and it might only be a week or month or couple of months).
Her Angel would need to have a lot of experience with cats. We are hoping to find Budda Girl a quiet home (absolutely no kids/dogs). Perhaps other cats are doable if she could have her own warm bedroom without being challenged by other kitties. She did have siblings but the abusive owner allowed them to be eaten by coyotes.
Budda Girl is supposedly 7 years old – but she seems like the world is crushing her. If we cannot find her an Angel to give her some version of love and comfort in the next week, we will have to make a decision to help her across the rainbow bridge at the end of the week. Her current quality of life in a busy adoption/foster situation is extremely depressing. We saw a glimmer of the gorgeous kitty she probably was before she was beaten (we think there is a chance her partial blindness is neurological and a result of the abuse we know she was subjected to by the “toddler”). She has had full x-rays/blood panels/urinalysis/vet exam – there isn’t a quick medical fix, but Librela might help the pain in her back and hind legs, but it will not be able to fix the emotional and perhaps neurological trauma she was subjected to by a two-year-old and most likely also his caretaker. Her trauma is apparent in every growl and step she takes – but the momentary happiness she felt when she was getting chin scratches makes us want to try to give her that experience for at least a couple of days/weeks/months. However, finding the right Angel that can open their hearts and homes to her less lovable moments is going to be the struggle. Please contact us directly at 858-883-4222 – She is spayed and has had vaccines. She is parasite, worm, and flea-free. #SaveBuddaGirl #FosterAngelNeeded #joannesfurryfriends.com
