Meet “Freya”

Meet Freya, this green-eyed, soft, loving beauty is ready to go to her forever home. Freya is a very sweet girl, who has made great progress and now deserves a forever home to call her own. Are you the perfect adopter for her?

When Freya first came into the rescue, she was shocked by the change. Her elderly owner passed away in May 2022, leaving Freya and her 15-30 kitty housemates without any options. Although the owner meant the best for his pets, he was in over his head even before his health deteriorated and our veterinarian’s office asked our help to find all the cats in the house, safe and healthy homes. We need to find homes for these wonderful, friendly kitties ASAP because we are over limit on taking in and helping people until we’ve rehomed these wonderful, beloved kitties in good safe homes.

She now loves attention and no longer hides. Freya gets along with quite kids, cats (although it took some time) and is ok with dogs. She mainly avoids the dogs, but is ok to share the couch with them if they aren’t too close.  She will need a patient adopter, who is willing to give her the time she will need to adjust to a new environment. When she went to her foster home, it took her 10 days to come out from under the bed when people were in the room. She has now been with her foster family for 6 weeks and has made some big changes. She still gets scared with change until she feels safe, but with time she will become the best snuggle buddy you could ask for. Approx 2 years old, she is FIV/FeLV negative. She has been treated for fleas, parasites & confirmed to be fixed.

**All of their adoption fees have been waived to good indoor-only homes. To a great home we will be willing to transport to the adopter at no charge, anywhere in the U.S.** Donations via our website are very appreciated because we are overwhelmed with this situation coupled with kitten season.

Located in San Diego, California – but we will deliver all over the US at no cost to the adopter. We can arrange times for you to meet Freya if you are local. Please call or text 858-883-4222. Fill out an adoption application on our website.

*You can learn more about animal hoarding on the ASPCA website, but as stated, “It is a complex issue that often encompasses mental health, animal welfare and public safety concerns.”  The owner had over 30 kitty urns from his past cats displayed carefully – he truly, truly loved all animals.
