Meet “Quiet (as a Mouse)”

Say hello to Quiet (as a mouse) — a teeny tiny little tabby looking for my purrfect indoor-only forever home!

I was trapped in a neighborhood a month ago, where seven other abandoned kitties were also rescued. I’m about five months old, and the kitty who was most likely my mama had another litter. Sadly, she had lost a leg. Even though she tried to care for my half-siblings as long as she could, her injury was too severe and infected, and she safely and warmly crossed the rainbow bridge at the vet hospital after making sure my half siblings ended up safe with Joanne’s Furry Friends. 💔 I wish my mama had more of a chance, but Animal Services just dropped off and empty trap and didn’t try to help trap her themselves, she is very lucky the renters found Joanne’s and they came right away so my mama didn’t have to suffer (even one week was too long that she had to spend in horrible pain).

After my mama and siblings were trapped, I was terrified I might not make it either. Even though Joanne’s Furry Friends had cameras set up to alert their trapping team, a pack of coyotes came out of the dark and tried to get me while I was inside the trap. I fought back as hard as I could until my rescuers arrived (you can watch the scary video here: https://fb.watch/AllVlH3M6q/).

At first, no one could tell if I was feral or just scared—but after surviving so much, there was no way Joanne’s Furry Friends could put me back outside after my spay, especially with coyotes clearly targeting me.

So now I’m learning what it means to be safe indoors. I love indoor food, soft beds, my foster mama, and even my foster kitty friend. I’ve started sleeping on my foster mama at night, quietly meowing when she enters the room, and gently asking for pets—even in the dark when I feel scared. I haven’t quite learned how to purr yet, but I’m comfortable being picked up and carried around once I know you.

All I really want is to be a kitten again—without having to worry where my next meal will come from, or if I’ll become a meal myself.
