Meet “Thomas”

Thomas, the handsome-kitty-boy, the myth, the legend is back in our care. He is still our all-time favorite cat. If our job wasn’t to rescue other kitties, we would never ever adopt him out again. He came back to us because his adopter works all day and he was sad when she was gone. She thought he was “pulling” little bits of carpet out all over the house… but when we got him back, his claws were so long they couldn’t retract. He did dig a teeny tiny hole by the front door because he missed her when she went to work for 10+ hours a day… but the single little bits of carpet fiber here and there were because he needed his claws trimmed. He has scratched anything since he has been with his foster for two weeks.

Thomas came to us as a “feral” (he wasn’t actually feral at all, but the neighborhood lore just assumed the handsome Tom had to be feral). He had fathered multiple litters. He was the neighborhood protector – he loves all other kitties, kittens (he teaches them to use a litterbox and eat real food), dogs and humans – children and adults. He is literally the most amazing kitty boy in the entire world. He is a wise man in a handsome furry suit. He takes his job very seriously when he is protecting his world, but he loves new friends and happily greets visitors the minute they walk in the front door. It only took him minutes to be at home at his new foster’s house with two kids, two dogs, and two other cats that he had never met before.

There really aren’t words to describe how amazing Thomas is – in every way. You will have to meet him to appreciate it. All of our fosters have had LOTS of cats come and go… but Thomas is the most special soul. He needs a home forever, but he isn’t picky as long as he can do his job and have a safe INDOOR only home (where his claws can stay trimmed). Neutered/vaccinated/de-wormed/de-flead/approximately 10 years old – he has NO interest in going outside. He would prefer to lay next to his human 24/7 a day.

He originally came to us because a coyote tried to eat him and he begged for help (you can read his original story here – it is literally fascinating). We cleaned his drains and removed his stitches and he never ever reacted at all negatively to any of his vetting. At Pet Hospital of North Park, they never even had to sedate him to remove the drains or stitches. We offered him love and care, which he returned 1000 fold. We cried happy tears when he was adopted. He raised his new four week old Godson “Stewie” with love and care. We are not sad Thomas is back, however, we just need to find him the most wonderful home ever! Can you help us?
