Meet “Yuzu”

Meet “Yuzu”—a stunningly beautiful, incredibly sweet gray and white long-haired, 2-year-old male indoor kitty in search of his forever home. We love all of our kitties, but Yuzu has become one of our very favorites. Besides being handsome, he is also extremely smart and empathetic.

Here’s what happens every night when I come home from work (FurrLecia, my full-time cat, and I are fostering Yuzu): I open the door and Yuzu comes over trilling at me, welcoming me home and asking why it took me so long. FurrLecia, of course, demands food, and since she told him he needed to beg as well, he knows the drill and chirps beside her all the way to the food dish (he grew up with 83 other cats—so he does what he is told). I put the food down, and FurrLecia dives in like the piggie she is, but Yuzu takes one or two polite bites and then follows me around as I put my things away and change out of my work clothes. When it’s time for bed, he wants to give me very gentle Eskimo nose rubs and blink at me. All night long, he insists on lying next to me or right on top of me. If I push him off because I need a little space, he lays quietly and then reaches out one paw to touch my hand. If I move my hand, he sighs and gently waits, then tentatively lays his paw on my hand so we can hold hands. If I sleep on my stomach, he becomes a little concerned and walks carefully around me to find my face—after softly nose touching my forehead, he is reassured that I’m okay and that I do, indeed, have a face. Yuzu is an incredibly empathetic doll face.

Rescued from a severe hoarding situation, Yuzu spent extra time in the shelter before we were allowed to bring him into the rescue. He may need a little time to adjust to his new environment, but with patience and love, he will undoubtedly flourish. Yuzu’s ideal home would be with someone who appreciates his affectionate and sensitive nature.

Did we mention how handsome he is? He looks like the kitty model from the Capstar box.

Yuzu is comfortable with other cats, having lived with over 82 of them! He also gets along with friendly, cat-savvy dogs and calm children. We require a $75 adoption fee to ensure he finds a loving, indoor-only home (but if you ask us, he is priceless). Yuzu is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations (FVRCP and rabies), tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and has received a health checkup and microchipping. He’s also been treated for fleas, dewormed, and is litter box trained.

We’re located in San Diego, so don’t hesitate to contact us at 858-883-4222 to arrange a meeting with him at his foster home. For more details, visit JoannesFurryFriends.com.
