Meet Zoey. ❤️
Zoey is a beautiful one-year-old mama cat whose story is both heartbreaking and hopeful.
She and her four kittens were living in the parking garage of a hotel in La Jolla Shores when we received an urgent call. The hotel manager made it very clear that he did not like cats, and if we didn’t trap and remove them, he would “take care of it” himself.
Normally, this would have been a simple Trap-Neuter-Return. The little family was well-fed, had found a relatively safe (although one kitten disappeared before we were contacted) place to survive, and we had no idea whether any of them were friendly enough for adoption.
Then we met Mama Zoey. It took only moments to realize this sweet girl had once known the comfort of a home. She welcomed gentle pets, leaned into affection, purred happily, and looked at us with trusting eyes. Somewhere along the way, someone had loved her… and somewhere along the way, she ended up abandoned. Leading her kittens through life between cars.
Despite everything she’s been through, Zoey hasn’t lost her faith in people.

After raising her kittens and making sure they were safe, it’s finally Zoey’s turn to be the one who’s cared for.
She has survived life outside. She’s done her job as an incredible mama. Now she deserves a family that will love her for the rest of her life and never let her wonder where she belongs again.
