Meet “Liberty”

Meet Liberty – The Brave Little Mom Who Asked for Help

Liberty is the sweetest, most affectionate 9-month-old spayed female tabby who began her rescue journey in the most remarkable way. She was abandoned on base, confused and alone—yet still hopeful. When she spotted her future foster (who serves in the Navy), Liberty walked straight up, looked her in the eyes, and asked for help.

And there was no way she was going to be left behind, she sat in her foster’s lap on the way to her apartment.

Her Rescue Story

Young as she was, Liberty had already endured far too much. At her vet appointment for spay and vaccines, we discovered she was pregnant. While our long-time vet has always supported pregnant spays, a staffing change meant the clinic no longer performed them, especially once kittens reach a certain age on ultrasound.

We arranged for another vet, but Liberty’s foster had never had the experience of birth and kitten development. After careful discussion, we made the unusual choice in our rescue to let Liberty have her kittens in a safe, loving environment.

She delivered five beautiful babies, raised them with devotion, and watched them all be adopted into loving homes. Now, at last, it’s Liberty’s turn to be a kitten again.

Liberty’s Highlights

  • Approximately 9 months old

  • Spayed, vaccinated, and ready for her forever home

  • Extremely friendly and adaptable
(She made herself at home the moment she entered her foster’s life!)

  • Great with other cats – she grew up caring for babies and enjoys feline companionship

  • Loves people – snuggly, social, and affectionate with everyone she meets

  • Good with kids – gentle, patient, and loving

  • Likely good with polite dogs after a slow, thoughtful introduction
(We don’t know her past dog experience, but her temperament suggests she’ll do great – all of our cats are offered on a trial adoption.)

  • Indoor-only sweetheart who just wants to belong

Why She’s Special

Liberty chose her rescuer. She trusted a stranger in uniform to keep her safe, and she blossomed into the kind of cat who walks into a room and instantly makes it warmer.

Her foster says that if she weren’t in the Navy—never knowing when she’ll receive new orders—Liberty is the one cat she would have kept forever. More than the kittens. More than any other foster. Because Liberty is simply that special.
