Meet “Mama Toffee”
Meet Toffee — The Petite Former Mama Who Still Trusts People 💛
Toffee is a tiny, affectionate young tabby mama (around 9 months to 1 year old) who has already lived through more than any cat should… and somehow came out of it still loving humans with her whole heart.
Her Rescue Story
Toffee was found near the Home Depot off Imperial in San Diego, an area known for having a significant stray cat problem. But this smart little girl did what loving mamas do — she found a quiet backyard nearby where she could safely raise her two babies: Peppermint and Candy Cane.
A kind young woman living at the house began feeding the little family quietly and soon realized something important:
Toffee wasn’t feral. She wasn’t fearful.
She was sweet, friendly, and clearly used to people.
Toffee had a home once… somewhere. But someone failed her. She wasn’t spayed, and she ended up on the streets, trying to survive and raise babies the best she could. Still — she never lost her trust in humans.
When we arrived to trap, we never expected what happened next:
Toffee walked right up like she was asking to be picked up.
And honestly? She was.
Toffee’s Personality
Toffee is a total lovebug.
Extremely friendly and seeks out affection
Sleeps on her foster mama at night
Spends her days following her around like a little shadow
Brave and confident — she doesn’t hide in new spaces, she explores them with purrs
A wonderful mama who is now ready to be someone’s baby
Other Pets & Kids
Toffee is currently fostered with a cat named Delta. She’s okay with him, but she doesn’t totally understand how to play — so she mostly tells him to stay in his lane… while he keeps trying to win her friendship. 🥲
She also previously shared a backyard with a small dog, so with a patient introduction, she’ll likely do well with dogs.
With polite, gentle kids, Toffee will most likely be a wonderful match — she’s very sweet and people-focused.
What Toffee Wants
After everything she’s done for her kittens, Toffee is ready for what she’s always deserved:
